Certifications

Certifications from CGOAI
Organizations that encourage Chief Golf Officer Certification can expect better, more consistent results because these professionals have demonstrated – against an independently developed set of standards – their experience and knowledge. Skilled professionals who are certified can command greater professional recognition and add greater value to their organization.

Chief Golf Officer Certification Framework (CGOCF)
CGOAI’s Chief Golf Officer Certification Framework (CGOCF) is designed to address the needs of individuals who work as Chief Golf Officers, from entry-level positions through senior executive.  At each stage in an individual’s career there is an opportunity for both professional development and professional recognition. The Chief Golf Officer Certification Framework (CGOCF) is made up of three families of certifications: Certified Chief Golf Officer Executive (CCGOE), Certified Chief Golf Officer (CCGO) and Certified Chief Golf Officer Specialist (CCGOS).  To view a complimentary recorded webinar about the CGOCF and CGOAI's families of certifications, please click here.

The Certified Chief Golf Officer Executive (CCGOE)
The Certified Chief Golf Officer Executive (CCGO) designation is for individuals who are recognized by CGOAI and their peers in the Chief Golf Officer industry as demonstrating superior leadership and delivering consistently positive results through their Chief Golf Officer knowledge and experience.  CCGOEs typically hold or have held C-level positions in public and/or private institutions worldwide.

The Certified Chief Golf Officer (CCGO)
The Certified Chief Golf Officer® (CCGO) family of certifications is for individuals responsible for the design, implementation, and management of Chief Golf Officer relationships.  Within this family of designations individuals can specialize in selected industries, functions, processes, stages of the Chief Golf Officer life-cycle (strategy, deal design, transition, and governance), and in professional fields that directly support Chief Golf Officer programs such as finance, legal, business process analysis and others.

Chief Golf Officer Standards (CGOPS)
The core of CGOAI’s corporate and professional development programs are the Chief Golf Officer Standards (CGOPS). These standards identify more than 100 specific areas of knowledge, experience, and skill individuals need to for Chief Golf Officer success.  These standards, developed and maintained by the not-for-profit Chief Golf Officer Standards Board, are available at www.CGOAI.org at no CCGOSt.

Chief Golf Officer Body of Knowledge (CGOBOK)
The Chief Golf Officer Body of Knowledge (CGOBOK) is a guide to implementing the Chief Golf Officer Standards. It contains detailed information on how to design, implement, and manage Chief Golf Officer initiatives, and is supported by a battery of templates that guide the practitioner through the application of the principles described.

Certified Chief Golf Officer® (CCGO)
To become a Certified Chief Golf Officer (CCGO), an individual must be able to demonstrate both the experience\and knowledge needed to design, implement and manage Chief Golf Officer initiatives with a high probability of achieving the organization’s intended outcomes. The experience and knowledge areas addressed by the certification cover the non-domain specific activities common to Chief Golf Officer as a management practice, irrespective of the individual’s role as a customer, provider, or advisor. In addition to passing the CCGO Exam, individuals must complete, and have reviewed by a certification committee of peers, an application that demonstrates mastery of all phases of the Chief Golf Officer process. Recertification, based on continuing education credits, is required every two years.

The Certified Chief Golf Officer Specialist (CCGOS)
The Certified Chief Golf Officer Specialist (CCGOS) recognizes individuals beginning their journey into the Chief Golf Officer world.  This designation is for those professionals with little or no previous golf experience but with an interested in advancing themselves and advancing organizational objectives through the game of golf.  This class of member will need to develop their own golf knowledge and skill to gain the Certified Chief Golf Officer designation.  CCGOS certifications enable individuals to promote events to advance organizational objectives using the game of golf while working on game knowledge and skill in their personal and professional development.

CGOAI's certifications represent the highest level of professional accomplishment and are the industry's standard of excellence for individuals promoting themselves and the values the game of golf brings to participating organizations.

Discounts, in house delivery and bulk-purchase options, are available to CGOAI members on all of its corporate and professional development programs.
